Square Enix, the iconic game developer, has announced its latest collection of trading cards that will celebrate the legendary game Final Fantasy VII. The collection, named Final Fantasy VII Anniversary Art Museum: Digital Card Plus, will feature 207 cards, and each pack will be priced at ¥440 ($3.30). Along with six physical trading cards, each pack will include a digital exchange card that can be redeemed for NFTs.
Digital Exchange Cards and NFTs
The digital exchange cards included in each pack can be exchanged for NFTs, according to Square Enix. These NFTs are currently not resellable or giftable. However, all 207 cards in the collection will be attainable as NFTs.
Enjin Wallet App and NFT Platform
To redeem the digital version of the card, you need to create an account with Enjin, a leading NFT platform, and download their Enjin Wallet app. Square Enix was one of the first major game developers to embrace NFTs and has partnered with Enjin to release its NFTs. However, Square Enix warns that if the Enjin service ever terminates, the digital card may not be viewable or usable in the future.
Cloud Strife Action Figure with NFT Version
Square Enix has previously released a Digital Plus Edition action figure of Cloud Strife, one of the heroes in the Final Fantasy series. The action figure comes with an NFT version, and both versions are available through Enjin.
Symbiogenesis – Square Enix’s First NFT Game
In addition to the Final Fantasy VII trading cards collection, Square Enix has announced its first NFT game, Symbiogenesis. This new NFT experience features a collection of 10,000 NFT characters with real game utility. Square Enix describes the game as “narrative unlocked NFT entertainment” and “a completely new form of NFT-based entertainment.”
Square Enix continues to push the boundaries with its latest foray into the world of NFTs. With the Final Fantasy VII trading cards collection and Symbiogenesis, Square Enix offers fans new ways to engage with their favorite games. However, it’s important to note that the NFT market is still evolving, and it’s crucial to approach it with caution.
