Ubisoft’s Rabbids are continuing to make waves in the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In an exciting development for the gaming community, Ubisoft has joined forces with Reddit to offer Reddit users free Rabbid-themed NFT avatars.
These digital collectibles, which can be found on the Polygon blockchain, depict the Rabbids in various outfits and poses. Among the designs are a slightly disgruntled knight wielding a plunger and a cheerful unicorn rabbit equipped with a golden plunger. These unique yet charming weapons pay homage to the early days of the Rabbids games.
A Glimpse into Reddit’s NFT Ecosystem
This collaboration isn’t just a whimsical novelty for Reddit users; it represents a significant advancement in the adoption of NFTs by major gaming companies and social media platforms. When Reddit introduced their “Snoo” NFT avatars in July 2022, users rushed to acquire them, resulting in a highly successful NFT launch for the brand. As of now, all “Plunger Rabbid” and “Unicorn Rabbid” avatars have already been claimed.

Inspired by Reddit’s humanoid alien mascot, Snoo NFTs have amassed an impressive market capitalization of over $330 million. Furthermore, Reddit has released more than 13.5 million Polygon NFTs to date, distributed across over 9.7 million unique wallets, with the majority being given as free gifts to Reddit users. These NFTs have generated a total of over $32.6 million in secondary sales volume, encompassing nearly 300,000 transactions.
Ubisoft’s Ongoing Venture into the Blockchain Space
This collaboration demonstrates how Reddit and Ubisoft are championing the concept of digital ownership through NFTs. Despite facing criticism for their initial Tezos NFTs in the PC version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft remains undeterred. Their recent launch of “Smart Collectibles” for Assassin’s Creed in partnership with Integral Reality Labs (IRL) exemplifies the studio’s enduring commitment to exploring the potential of blockchain technology.
Ubisoft’s involvement with blockchain and NFTs is not a recent development; the Rabbids were previously part of a charity-oriented crypto token game for Unicef in 2020. Additionally, the Rabbids were the first game characters from Ubisoft to receive the NFT treatment in The Sandbox.
The collaboration between Reddit and Ubisoft sets the stage for further integration of NFTs within social media platforms, underscoring the evolving significance of digital ownership in these domains.
