Nike, the well-known global brand in the sportswear industry, is firmly establishing its Web3 presence with the release of its inaugural NFT drop on the recently launched .Swoosh platform. The NFT series, named Our Force 1 or OF1, comprises virtual sneaker NFTs modeled after the legendary Nike Air Force 1 – an iconic shoe design that has undergone countless remixes since its original launch in 1982.
This distinctive NFT collection on Polygon is divided into two digital boxes – the Classic Remix and the New Wave box. The Classic Remix digital box comprises pairs of Air Force 1 shoes that were launched between 1982 and 2006, while the New Wave boxes feature sneakers designed in 2007 and beyond. Moreover, certain boxes will include custom AF1 designs, specifically those with a “nostalgic twist” in the Classic Remix boxes and a “futuristic twist” inside the New Wave boxes.
Priced at $19.82 as a tribute to the year of the Nike Air Force 1’s initial release, these sneaker boxes will only be available for purchase via fiat currency. Nike has also revealed that each NFT will be accompanied by a corresponding 3D file that collectors can utilize to “explore new avenues of self-expression.” The company has expressed its intention to integrate exclusive physical products or experiences with the NFTs from this collection.

Starting from April 18, Nike will begin airdropping Virtual AF1 posters – the essential element required to unlock an OF1 box NFT – to selected .Swoosh members. These members will be granted early access to the mint on May 8, whereas non-qualifying members can still join the entire .Swoosh community to purchase OF1 boxes starting May 10.
